| Attention all fathers! As divorce is
becoming more common, so is the issue of
child custody. Whats worse is the
discrimination against fathers in many
child custody cases, and the perception
that mothers always make better parents. Fighting
for Your Children, by John
Steinbreder and Richard G. Kent, informs
fathers facing a child custody battle
about the legal system that is often
tilted unfairly against them. Using
anecdotes from fathers who have gained
full or joint custody, as well as
comments from fathers who have met with
failure, this necessary guide is filled
with helpful advice including:
- understanding and circumventing
current biases in the legal
system;
- devising solid courtroom
strategy;
- creating a fair and workable
visitation solution; and
- thoughts on how the system can be
changed to work more fairly for
both men and women in the future.
Fighting for Your Children
gives fathers a chance to fight back by
offering ways to prepare for the
technical and emotional difficulties that
lie ahead and providing personal accounts
from fathers who have successfully gained
custody of their children.
